ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Fourth power

You know how when you count, you say "one, two, three", right? And if you have three things like apples, you can count them: "one apple, two apples, three apples".

But what if you want to count the apples in a special way? Let's say you want to count how many apples you have if you take each apple and multiply it by itself four times. That would be the fourth power of the apple.

The fourth power is like taking something and multiplying it by itself four times. So if you had 2 and you wanted to take it to the fourth power, you would multiply 2 x 2 x 2 x 2, which equals 16.

It's kind of like supercharging a number or thing by multiplying it by itself four times. It's a way to make the number or thing much bigger and more powerful.
