ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Gender policing

Gender policing is like when somebody thinks that you should behave or look a certain way just based on whether you are a boy or a girl. If you are a girl and you like wearing pants or playing with trucks, but somebody tells you that you should wear dresses or play with dolls instead, that is gender policing. It's not fair, because everyone should be allowed to like what they like and be who they want to be, no matter what their gender is. It's like when a grown-up says you can't have mac and cheese for breakfast, but you really want it and it's not hurting anyone, so why not? Being yourself and feeling good about yourself is the most important thing.
