Genetic screening

Genetic screening is a way to find out if your genes (the material that makes up your body) have any changes or mutations that could cause you to get a certain health condition or disease. It's like a test to check whether you are at risk of having a particular disease or not. To do a genetic screening, you give some of your blood or saliva to a lab and they use special tools to look at the genetic material to see if any changes or mutations are present. If they find any genetic changes, they can tell you if you could be at risk of getting a certain disease. Genetic screening can help you plan ahead, so that if you do have any increased risk for a certain disease, you can talk to your doctor about it and decide what to do next.
