German collective guilt is when a group of people who live in Germany today feel a sense of guilt for the things that happened in Germany during the Nazi era (1933-1945). This is because many people in Germany were part of the Nazi government at that time and did very bad things. Even though all the people alive today didn't do anything wrong, some people still feel a sense of guilt for what happened. This is called "collective guilt" because it involves a group of people, like all of the people living in Germany today, feeling guilty for something that happened in the past.
