ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Gerrymandering

Gerrymandering is the practice of drawing political boundaries (like the boundaries of a voting district) to give one political party an advantage over another. For example, if a state is mostly Republican, the Republican party might draw the boundaries for voting districts in a way that makes it easier for them to get elected. This way, even if the other party gets more votes overall, the Republicans can still win more seats in the state legislature because their districts have more Republicans. It's kind of like a game - whoever draws the lines decides who wins!
