Golden mean (philosophy)

The Golden Mean is an ancient idea from philosophy that says that the best way to do something is to find the balance between two opposing extremes. For example, if you want to be successful, the Golden Mean tells us that you should neither be too ambitious nor too lazy – you should find a middle way between the two. It's a way of trying to make sure you don't go to extremes in any situation and instead make decisions based on understanding the situation and choosing a good balance.
