Habitat fragmentation

Habitat fragmentation is when big areas of land get split into smaller pieces. Usually, this happens when people build roads, houses, and other developments. The smaller pieces are not large enough for animals to find all the food, water and shelter they need. It can also mean that animals can't move freely across the land to find a mate, which makes it hard for them to keep producing new generations of their species.
