Heat

Heat is a type of energy. It is the energy caused by the movement of tiny particles. When things get hot, the tiny particles in them start to move around really fast. As the particles move, they bump into each other over and over, creating heat energy. Heat can also be released when something cools down, as the particles slow down and bump into each other less and less.
