ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Hierarchical organization

Hierarchical organization is a way of organizing things in levels, like a pyramid. The top of the pyramid are the most important people and the bottom are the least important people. For example, in a school, the principal is the most important person at the top of the pyramid. Teachers come next and at the bottom are the students. Everyone in the pyramid has different jobs and rules that they need to follow but all the people work together to make the school run smoothly.
