ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Hosea 7

Okay kiddo, so Hosea 7 is a chapter in the Bible that talks about how the people in Israel were not being very good. The prophet Hosea was trying to tell them that they were doing bad things and not following God's rules.

He talked about how they were like an oven that is always on, but they don't turn it off so their bread burns. That means they were doing bad things so much, it was making them not good people.

He also said that they were like a cake that is half-baked, which means they were only sorta following God's rules and not all the way.

Hosea wanted the people to realize that they needed to stop doing bad things and start following God's rules better. Just like how a burnt cake can't be fixed, if they kept doing bad things, they wouldn't be able to fix it either.

So basically, Hosea was telling people to be good and follow God's rules, or else bad things would happen.
