Hyperestrogenism

Okay kiddo, so let's talk about something called hyperestrogenism.

Our body has hormones which are like tiny messengers that tell different parts of our body what to do. One of these hormones is called estrogen which is usually present in girls but boys have it too but in lesser amounts.

Now sometimes our body can make too much estrogen, and this is called hyperestrogenism. It can happen for a few different reasons, but usually, it's because there's something going on with the ovaries or the adrenal glands, which are special parts inside our body that help us make hormones.

When someone has hyperestrogenism, they might have some strange things happen to their body. For example, girls might start to have their periods at a really young age, and they might happen more often than they should. They might also have really bad cramps, headaches, or feel dizzy.

In older women, hyperestrogenism can cause things like breast tenderness or abnormal bleeding.

For boys, they might start to grow breasts, and their testicles might become smaller, which is not normal. They might also have a lower sex drive or problems getting and keeping an erection.

So basically, hyperestrogenism means our body is making too much estrogen, and this can cause some strange things to happen to our body. If you ever feel like something is not right, it's important to talk to a doctor.
