ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Identity formation

Identity formation is figuring out who you are, what your values and beliefs are, and what kind of person you want to be. It's about finding out what makes you unique and special, and then being proud of and owning who you are. It can involve lots of different things-from trying out different activities and hobbies to spending time with people who have different beliefs and backgrounds. You can also do things like read, travel, and think deeply about the purpose of life and what you want from it. Identity formation is a part of growing up, and it can take a long time as you figure out who you are and what kind of person you want to be.
