Internet backbone

Imagine that the internet is like a really big city, with lots of buildings and roads that people use to get around. In this city, the internet backbone is like the main highway that connects all the buildings and roads together.

The internet backbone is made up of lots of big, powerful computers called servers, which are located all around the world. These servers are connected to each other using really fast cables and other devices that transfer data between them.

When you want to access something on the internet, like a website or a video, your computer sends a request to a server. That request then travels across the internet backbone to get to the correct server, which sends back the information you were looking for.

So basically, the internet backbone is the really important part of the internet that connects all the different parts together and helps us access all the amazing content on the internet.
