Imagine you are in a giant space room filled with tiny, floating dust and gas particles. This giant room is called the galaxy, and inside it there are different areas where there are more particles concentrated together. One of these areas is called an interstellar cloud, and it's like a big clump of dust and gas floating in space.
When a bunch of gas and dust are close together, gravity pulls them towards each other and makes them stick together. Eventually, this can create a really big clump, like the interstellar cloud. Because there is so much gas and dust stuck together, it can form some really cool things like stars and planets!
But don't worry, even though these interstellar clouds are really big, they're still really far apart from each other, so we don't have to worry about them crashing into us. Plus, they're really far away from our own little clump of dust and gas (the solar system) so we can just admire them from afar.
