Kurdistan

Kurdistan is an area in the Middle East made up of parts of several different countries, including Iraq, Turkey, Iran, and Syria. In the past, the Kurds, a group of people who live in Kurdistan, have wanted to become their own country, but so far they have not been successful. The Kurds are the largest group of people in the Middle East without their own country, so they are often thought of as a stateless nation. In Iraq, many Kurds want to establish a semi-autonomous region, or a region with their own governing system, but this is opposed by other groups in Iraq.
