Letter case

When we write words and letters like "cat" or "GREAT," we can choose to make some of the letters big and some of them small. This is called "letter case." When the letters are big, we call that "capital" or "uppercase"; when the letters are small, we call that "lowercase." Some reasons people might use different letter case include making certain words or letters stand out more, following certain rules in writing (like starting sentences with capital letters), or just because it looks cool!
