A Liberty Dollar is a type of private currency. Private currencies are designed to be used just like the regular currency (like US Dollars) in our wallets, but they are not issued or backed by any government. Private currencies like Liberty Dollars are made and managed by private companies, usually made of gold and silver coins. People can buy and use Liberty Dollars, but they can't buy things with them in most stores. Some places, however, do accept Liberty Dollars as payment. Liberty Dollars aren't as widely accepted as regular currency, so they don't have the same value as regular currency.
