Lifeboat (shipboard)

A lifeboat is like a special boat that is on larger boats or ships, just in case there is an emergency and everyone needs to get off the big boat quickly. The lifeboat usually has a special crew who knows how to drive the boat and help people get into it safely. They also have things like blankets and medicine in case someone gets hurt or sick. It's kind of like having a backup plan in case something bad happens on the big boat. You don't usually need to worry too much about the lifeboat because it's there just in case and hopefully, you never need to use it.
