ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Line source

A line source is a type of pollution source that releases pollutants into the air in a straight line. It is different from a point source, which releases pollutants in one spot. Examples of line sources include roads, railway lines, and factories that run along a specific route. The pollutants released by line sources are often spread along the length of the line, which can lead to high levels of air pollution in places downwind of the source.
