ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Low intensity conflict

Low intensity conflict is when countries or groups have different goals or beliefs, that they are trying to accomplish by fighting. It is different than a war, because in a war there is usually more fighting, involving more people and more powerful weapons. Low intensity conflict usually has more of a focus on using smaller weapons, such as guns, bombs, and rockets, as well as sometimes using tricks and spying. It is also sometimes called a "small war" or an insurgency.
