Mark 14 is a part of a big book that tells the stories about Jesus. It's like reading about your favorite hero! In this part, Jesus and his friends are celebrating a special day called Passover. It's like a big feast where they remember how God saved the people of Israel a long time ago.
During the feast, Jesus started talking about how he was going to die soon. His friends were worried and sad, but Jesus said it had to happen so that he could save everyone from their sins.
After dinner, Jesus went to a garden to pray. But then, some bad guys called soldiers came and arrested Jesus. His friends tried to protect him, but one of them even cut off a soldier's ear! But Jesus told them to stop and let the soldiers take him away.
The soldiers brought Jesus to some important people called the high priests, and they asked him lots of questions. They even had false witnesses who told lies about what Jesus said. But Jesus didn't say anything bad, he just said he was the Son of God.
The high priests didn't like what Jesus said, so they started to judge him and punish him. They even hit him and made fun of him. Then, they brought him to another important guy named Pilate. Pilate didn't want to hurt Jesus, but the high priests demanded that he be punished. So, Pilate let the soldiers whip Jesus and put a crown of thorns on his head.
Finally, they brought Jesus to a place called Golgotha and nailed him to a big wooden cross. It was very painful, but Jesus knew he had to do it to save everyone. And he did! After he died, he rose again and made it possible for everyone to be saved and go to heaven.
So, that's the story of Mark 14. It might be a little scary and sad, but it's important to remember that Jesus did all of this because he loves us so much.
