Noble lie

A noble lie is a lie that is shared with the goal of helping people in some way. It can be shared to keep people safe, to make society more stable, or to keep people from feeling bad. For example, sometimes, adults might tell their children that Santa brings all the presents on Christmas so that their children feel excited and happy on Christmas morning. That's a noble lie!
