ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Overshoot (population)

Overshoot (population) is when the number of people living in an area is too high for the area to be able to support. This means there are more people using the food, water, space, and other resources in an area than the area can provide. This can cause problems like food and water shortages, pollution, or not being able to find a place to live. Overshoot can happen in cities, states, countries, or on the whole planet!
