Passive fire protection

Passive fire protection is like a fire sprinkler system for buildings. It exists to help slow down the spread of fire, and help people get to safety. It works by having things like fire-proof doors, walls and ceilings, which don't catch fire easily, so that the fire can't spread quickly and people have enough time to get out of the building safely.
