Pharmacogenomics

Pharmacogenomics is a science that studies how genes can affect how medicines work in our bodies. Everyone is different, and so are their genetic codes. A person’s genetic code can affect how their body processes medicines, meaning they might not respond the same way two different people would. Pharmacogenomics looks at how diseases, medicines, and a person’s genetic code all interact with each other. With this knowledge, doctors can better tailor the medicines they choose for each patient, so they receive the best care possible!
