Praeteritio

Praeteritio is a figure of speech. It is when you talk about something by pretending not to mention it. For example, if you are telling a story, you don't mention something that is important to the story, but you want the other person to notice it. You can do this by saying something like, "I won't mention how long it took," or "I won't say who was responsible." This makes the other person think about the thing you didn't mention.
