Press censorship

Have you ever played a game where the grown-ups said you couldn't talk about a certain thing? Press censorship is kind of like that, but instead of grown-ups it's the government or other people in power who say the news can't talk about certain things.

When something big happens, like maybe a politician does something wrong, reporters want to tell you about it. But sometimes the government or other people in power don't want everyone to know what happened. So they might tell the newspaper or TV station not to talk about it. That's called press censorship.

Sometimes it's hard to know what's really going on in the world if people aren't allowed to talk about everything. That's why it's important for the press to have the freedom to share news with us. But sometimes they have to fight for that freedom and stand up to the people who want to keep things secret.
