Pulp is like a bunch of little sticks that are all slimy and mushy. These sticks are made out of wood or sometimes other materials like recycled paper.
Just like when someone makes play dough, the sticks are mixed with water and then squished and squashed together. This makes the sticks turn into a wet and sticky mushy stuff called pulp.
Then, the pulp is spread out flat and left to dry. Once it is dry, it becomes flat and kind of rough, like paper.
This is how paper is made - from the mushy pulp to the flat, white sheets that we write and draw on!
