ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Racial hygiene

Racial hygiene is a bad idea that some people used to believe in a long time ago. It meant that they thought some races of people were better than others, and they wanted to make sure the "good" races had more babies and the "bad" races had fewer babies.

This might sound like a good idea at first, but it's not fair because it's not based on anything real. Just because someone looks different or comes from a different culture doesn't mean that they're not just as important as anyone else. It's like saying that one color of crayon is better than another one, even though they're all useful and fun in their own way.

Also, when people try to control who has babies and who doesn't based on their race, it can lead to a lot of problems. They might force some people to not have babies, or even worse, they might hurt or kill people who they don't think should have babies. Plus, it's just not kind or respectful to treat some groups of people like they're not as important as others.

So, in short, racial hygiene is a mean and unfair idea that tries to control who has babies based on their race, and it's important for us to treat everyone with kindness and respect no matter where they come from or what they look like.
