Republican efforts to restrict voting following the 2020 presidential election

So, you know how we have elections where people get to vote for who they want to be in charge of our country? Well, some people didn't like who won the last election and think that too many people were allowed to vote, so they are trying to make it harder for certain people to vote next time.

These people are usually called Republicans and they are a type of political party. They are doing things like making it harder for people to register to vote, making it harder for people to vote by mail, and even closing down some voting locations so it's harder for people to go and vote in person.

They say they are doing this to stop people from cheating and to make sure that only people who are supposed to vote can vote. But some people are worried that this will keep certain groups of people, like poorer people or people of color, from being able to vote and have their voices heard.
