ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Requirements

Imagine you wanted to build a big castle made out of Lego blocks.

Before you start building, you need to know what you want your castle to look like and how big you want it to be.

These things are called requirements. They help you make sure you're building the right thing and that it works the way you want it to.

So, you might decide that your castle needs to have four towers, a drawbridge, and a big courtyard in the middle.

These are your requirements.

You might also decide that you only have 500 Lego blocks to build with, so you need to make sure your castle can be built with that many blocks.

This is also a requirement.

So, when you start building your castle, you'll make sure that you follow your requirements so that you end up with the castle you wanted, that works the way you wanted it to, and that can be built with the blocks you have.

Requirements are like a plan that helps you build what you want in the way you want it.
