Saltatory conduction is a type of electrical signal that moves quickly in the body. It works like this: when you move your muscles or do activities that need energy, tiny parts inside your body called neurons, send out electrical signals. When these signals travel through your body, the neurons send out an impulse, like sharply tapping a drum. This impulse then quickly jumps from one neuron to the next, kind of like when you jump rope and you jump quickly from one rope to the other without touching the ground. This quick jumping-type of signal is called saltatory conduction.
