Slavery in Brazil

Slavery in Brazil was a bad thing. Slavery is when people are treated like property and not like people. In Brazil, people who were enslaved were taken from Africa to do hard work like farming and housekeeping. They had no money or rights, and their owners could do whatever they wanted with them. Slavery in Brazil was very cruel and lasted for hundreds of years, until 1888 when the government made it illegal.
