Sophistry

Sophistry is when someone uses tricky words or arguments to try and make something sound better than it is or convince you to do something you don't really want to do. People using sophistry might not really believe the things they are saying, but they are trying to act like they know more than they do or to make things seem more important than they are. It's like telling a lie in a clever way.
