State sponsors of terrorism are countries that support and provide money, training, and help to groups or individuals who are known to commit terrorist acts. It is against the law in many countries to support such terrorist activity and countries that do support it can be punished. Countries that are known to be state sponsors of terrorism usually provide help to terrorist groups so they can carry out attacks on other nations or countries.
