Tết

Tết is a very special holiday celebrated in Vietnam. It's like a big birthday party that lasts for several days!

Before Tết, people clean and tidy their homes to get rid of any bad luck from the year before. They also decorate their homes with pretty flowers, red banners with good luck sayings on them, and they put up a special tree called a cây nêu.

On the night of Tết eve, families get together and have a big feast called a reunion dinner. They eat lots of yummy food and talk about their plans for the new year.

During Tết, people usually give each other lucky money in red envelopes. They also visit their friends and family to wish them good luck and happiness for the year ahead.

There are lots of fun activities during Tết, like dragon and lion dances, fireworks, and playing card games. Kids also get to play with special toys like spinning tops, kites, and board games.
