Targeted marketing is when companies try to sell their products or services to certain groups of people who are most likely to be interested in them.
Let's say a company makes toys for little kids. Instead of trying to sell those toys to everyone, the company will try to figure out which kids would like their toys the most. This might be kids who are a certain age or kids who like a certain type of toy.
The company will then create advertisements and promotions that are designed specifically for those kids. They might put the ads on TV during cartoons, or send emails to parents who have bought similar toys in the past.
By targeting their marketing efforts, companies save money and are more effective at reaching the right people. And for us as consumers, we end up seeing ads for things we're actually interested in!
