Genocide is when a group of people kills or harms another group of people because of differences in their religion, race, culture, or beliefs. The ten stages of genocide are:
1. Classification: People are divided into different groups based on their differences.
2. Symbolization: Each group is given symbols that set them apart from the other groups.
3. Dehumanization: Each group is labeled as "less than human" and separated from the other groups.
4. Organization: People who support the genocide are organized into groups to carry out the killings.
5. Polarization: The different groups are made to be enemies and hatred between them is encouraged.
6. Preparation: Weapons and other tools of violence are made ready for use.
7. Extermination: Large-scale killings of people in the targeted groups begin.
8. Denial: People deny that genocide is happening or deny their responsibility in it.
9. Protection: Governments and leaders take steps to protect the citizens of their own country from the violence.
10. Persecution: People who have survived the genocide are punished or denied access to resources.
