Okay kiddo – terrain is everything that you see around you, like hills, mountains, flat land, and forests.
When you go outside and look around, you might notice that the ground is bumpy or has different shapes. These shapes are part of the terrain.
Different terrain can make it easier or harder for you to walk, climb or run. For example, it’s easier to walk on flat terrain because there are no big hills or rocks in your way.
But if you’re on a mountain or a hill, you might have to climb up to the top to see the view. Climbing can be tough, but it’s worth it when you get to the top and see everything around you.
Terrain can also be important for things like building roads or houses. If the ground is too rocky or too steep, it might be difficult to build anything there.
So, terrain is basically the shape and form of the land around us – and it has a big impact on what we can do and how we do it!
