Textual criticism

Textual criticism is like being a detective for books. Sometimes when books are copied or printed, mistakes are made and words or letters are changed or left out. Textual criticism tries to find these mistakes and figure out what the original words were supposed to be. It’s like putting together a puzzle, trying to find the right pieces to make it complete. Some words might be missing or out of place, so it’s like trying to fill in the blanks. It’s important to make sure that we have the right words in the right places so we can understand what the book is trying to tell us.
