Thermal power plant

A thermal power plant is a place where we make electricity by using heat. It's kind of like using a stove to cook something.

Just like you need a pan and a stove to cook food, we also need special machines and equipment to make electricity in a thermal power plant. The most important machine is called a boiler.

The boiler is like a big pot that's filled with water. We use coal, natural gas or oil to heat the water in the boiler. When the water gets hot, it turns into steam. Steam is like the clouds you see in the sky, except it's much hotter.

The steam that's made in the boiler goes through some pipes and turns a special machine called a turbine. The turbine is kind of like a big fan, but it spins really, really fast.

When the turbine spins, it generates electricity. We use wires to send the electricity to homes, schools, and businesses so that you can turn on the lights, watch TV, or use a computer.

After the steam goes through the turbine, it goes into another machine called a condenser. This machine cools the steam down so that it turns back into water again. The water is then sent back to the boiler so that we can make more steam and keep making electricity.

Thermal power plants are important because they provide a lot of the electricity that we use every day. However, we need to be careful when we use them because they can also cause air pollution and contribute to climate change if we don't use them responsibly.
