Energy crop

Energy crops are plants that are grown specifically to be used as a source of energy. Think of them as special plants that help make electricity or fuel for cars.

Let’s say that you wanted to make a fire to cook some marshmallows. What do you need? You need wood, right? Well, the same thing goes for making electricity or fuel. We need something to burn or break down to help make energy. That’s where energy crops come in!

Energy crops can be different kinds of plants, like grasses, trees, and even crops like corn, sugarcane and soybeans. These plants are grown on special farms that are called energy crop farms.

When energy crops are grown, they absorb sun and nutrients from the ground, which help them grow big and strong. Later, when it's time to use them to make energy, they are harvested and sent to a special facility where they are burned, turned into gas or liquid fuels, or some other process to help create energy.

Using energy crops is very good for the environment because they are renewable, which means that we can grow more crops whenever we need them. Plus, energy crops make less pollution than other sources of energy like coal, oil or gas.

So, that’s energy crops in a nutshell. They're special plants that help make electricity or fuel, and they're good for the environment because they're renewable and make less pollution.
