Treta Yuga

In Hinduism, there are four periods of time or "yugas" called Satya Yuga, Treta Yuga, Dwapara Yuga, and Kali Yuga. Treta Yuga is the period that came after Satya Yuga.

Imagine you are playing a game with friends. In Satya Yuga, everyone played the game very well and followed all the rules. But in Treta Yuga, people started to break some of the rules and the game was not as good as before.

Treta Yuga lasted for a very long time, almost 1,296,000 years according to Hindu scriptures. During this time, many great people and kings lived, such as Lord Rama who fought against evil and helped people in need.

But as time went on, people started to become more selfish and forgot about their duty to do good things for others. This is why Treta Yuga is known as the "Age of Sacrifice," because people had to make sacrifices to keep the world in balance.

So, Treta Yuga is a time period in Hinduism that came after Satya Yuga, where people started to become less virtuous but many great heroes also lived.
