Dear kiddo,
Tropical evergreen forest is a type of forest that you can find in really warm, wet places like South America, Africa, and Southeast Asia. This forest is made up of really tall trees with huge leaves that stay green all year round, even in the rainy season.
These trees grow in a place where it rains a lot and it is really hot and humid. Because of all the rain, the soil is also really wet and fertile, which means that a lot of plants and animals can live there. You can imagine that it's like a big playground for all the creatures that live there!
Now, you might wonder why these trees keep their leaves green all year round. This is because, unlike in places with four seasons, the weather does not change that much in these places. So, the trees don't need to lose their leaves in the winter like the trees in our backyard do, they can keep them!
In the tropical evergreen forest, you can find a lot of different animals, such as monkeys, parrots, frogs, snakes, and other amazing creatures. Some animals even live high up in the trees, because the canopy (the high top of the forest) is so dense that there's plenty of food and safety!
I hope this helps you understand what the tropical evergreen forest is all about!
