Unionization

Unionization is when a group of workers work together to create a group called a union. This group helps all the workers by working to make sure that they are treated fairly by their boss or employer. The union will talk to the boss about things like how much money the workers get paid, how many hours they work each day or week, and how safe their working conditions are.

When a group of workers decides to form a union, they pick someone to lead the group. This person is called the "union leader". The union leader talks to the other workers and helps them to understand their rights as workers. They work with the employer to try to make conditions better for the workers.

When the union and the employer cannot agree on things like pay, hours, or working conditions, they may have to have a special meeting called a "strike". This is when all or at least a large number of workers stop working as a way of protesting unfair conditions. The strike is a way for the workers to show their employer that they are serious about getting what they want.
