Vanity press

A vanity press is like a special kind of printer where someone can pay to have their own book printed. It's like when you draw a picture and your mom helps you make it into a real book. But with a vanity press, you don't need to have someone else help you, you can do it all by yourself.

The people who use a vanity press are usually authors who want to make their own books because they don't have a regular book publisher to help them. This means that they have to pay a lot of money to the vanity press to make their book. It's kind of like paying for a really fancy book and getting to be in charge of how it looks and what it says.

The downside of using a vanity press is that sometimes the book doesn't look as nice as if a regular book publisher made it. And there's no guarantee that anyone will want to read it, even if the author thinks it's really good. That's why most people prefer to get regular book publishers to print their books instead of using a vanity press.
