Whistler (radio)

Okay, so you know how sometimes you talk on the phone, and your voice travels through the air and magically enters your friend's phone? Whistler radios are kind of like that, but they aren't for talking.

Instead, whistler radios are used to transmit and receive signals that we can't hear with our ears. These signals are called "whistlers" because they sound like high-pitched whistles when we translate them into sounds we can hear.

Scientists and researchers use whistler radios to listen to these signals from very far away places in space. They can tell us things about the Earth's atmosphere and magnetic field, as well as other planets and even distant stars.

Cool, right? Plus, there's no need for anyone to pick up the phone and say, "Can you hear me now?" because the whistlers will always be there as long as we have the right equipment to pick them up.
