Window function

Window functions are like curtains that you can open and close on a window in your home. In computing, a window function is a mathematical equation that is used to shape the way that information is processed. Window functions help to smooth out, or shape, the input data, and make it easier to work with. For example, a window function could be used to help researchers to analyse sound waves, or to help engineers to adjust the image displayed on a computer screen.
