ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Albino

Albinism is a rare condition that happens when your body doesn't make enough melanin. Melanin is what gives your skin, hair, and eyes color. People with albinism have very little or no melanin, so they are very pale and have white or very light blonde hair. Their eyes are also very light and often have pink or blue tints. Because they have less protection from the sun than people with more melanin, they can get sunburned easily and have a higher risk of skin cancer. Albinism doesn't usually affect a person's health in any other way, but it can affect their eyesight. Some people with albinism have problems seeing, such as nearsightedness, farsightedness, and trouble with depth perception.
