Bastarda

Bastarda is a word that describes something that is not completely the same as something else. Imagine you have two toys that look almost exactly the same, but one of them is just a little bit different from the other. The different one can be called a bastarda toy.

In the old times, when people had babies, they would give the baby a name depending on the parent's names. If the baby was a boy, he would have the father's last name, but if the baby was a girl, she would get a special name from her mother's last name. But sometimes, a child would be born without a father, or the father wasn't known, and then the child wouldn't have the same last name as their mother. That made them a little bit different, and people would call them bastarda.

But now we know that it's not nice to call someone a bastarda just because they have a different last name or don't know who their father is. It's important to treat everyone with kindness and respect, no matter what their name is.
